Vote for Canada’s next Lays Flavour at Lays.ca/Flavour
What pops into your mind when you hear Cowboy BBQ Beans, Butter Chicken, Montreal Smoked Meat or P.E.I. Scalloped Potatoes?
Dinner, of course, you will say!
WRONG!
These are not delicious entrees you will find on your dining room table but in your chips bowl.
Lay’s Canada has conducted another quest to find original and fun potato chip flavours and the above ones have made it into the finals!
Each of the flavours was inspired by the finalists personal memories of favourite Canadian dishes or family traditions.
Kudos to their creativity.
I could be tempted by P.E.I. Scalloped Potatoes, but Cowboy BBQ Beans, Butter Chicken, Montreal Smoked Meat!? Are the ideas surprising to anyone else but me?
If I had a sudden craving for Butter Chicken, Smoked Meat or Beans, would I think “Oh let’s grab a bag of Lays!”?
Last year, one of the Finalist flavours included, was the Lays Cinnabun Bun Flavour.
I actually bought a bag and have to admit, it did taste surprisingly similar to cinnamon buns.
But really, if you like to eat cinnamon buns, you enjoy the freshly baked soft and yummy dough and even though the chips tasted similar, the texture is all wrong. Honestly, the Cinnabun Bun chips just did not cut it for me.
Chips are crisps and Cinnamons buns are sweet and soft and goeye. I get this treat from the bakery and not my chips aisle!
Lays, of course, suggests that you buy all four flavours and invite your friends to a tasting party.
Then each of you can vote on the best/worst flavour.
Not a bad idea! So, with that I am off to my very own 2015 Lays Chips taste test.
Heading out now to buying the four bags and hopefully find some brave taste testers in my family.
Have you tried the new chips flavours and if so, what did you think?
P.S. the lucky finalists can each bag $5,000 CDN and a Grand prize of $50,000 CDN, plus chip’s future sales are going to the winning creator of the 2015 Lays Flavour Quest .
