Snow Tubing Fun in Ontario

Snow tubing racing down then hill on rubber tubes
is the fun way for young and old to enjoy outdoor winter fun.
With some cities now restricting or even banning children from using public hills for tobogganing, snow tubing is quickly gaining fans and with good reason.
Tubing offers an exhilarating and safe spin down the hill and there is no worry about getting injured by hitting stones, trees or other fun seekers.
The part I liked most is not having to climb up a steep hill!
Tubing hills will get riders a lift up with the carpet slide.
It’s also an inexpensive way to enjoy winter sports without the need for buying or renting equipment year after year.
As helmets and tubes are provided by the park, all your family needs is proper winter outwear and boots.
My family simply dresses in snow pants and jackets.
For colder or snowy days, you may also want to consider bringing a pair of ski goggles. I purchased some on sale at Sportcheck and paid less than $10 for each pair.

A special treat for teens is also the snow tubing in the evening hours, when the tubing hill is illuminated by flood lights.
Enjoy a family afternoon, book a birthday party or group event.
Rates and prices:
Rates for tubing vary by location. Some parks will charge for tubing by the hour. e.g. 2 hour pass for $20, while others offer single ride tickets (about $4 per ride). You may also get a discount when buying multi ride tickets, example 6 rides for $20. Also watch for weekday specials, Girl’s Night out, Teen nights etc. Less frequent are day or season passes, but they can often be found at ski parks like Kitchener.
Restrictions:
Before heading out with smaller children, make sure that your kids meet the height and or age restrictions. For example most parks require that children be at least 4 years old or 42 inches tall or taller to participate.
Safety:
Many parks do require a helmet. Rent or bring your own.
