My Family’s visit to Ripley’s Aquarium Toronto

If snorkeling in the Caribbean or swimming with the dolphins out of the question, this Toronto Attraction is the next best thing.
Visit Canada’s largest indoor aquarium and see an incredibly diverse and impressive array of marine animals.
Last March I had the pleasure to visit the Ripley’s Aquarium Toronto, and the Shark tunnel is fantastic and absolutely mesmerizing.
I would not want to come any closer to a shark than this. In our journey beneath the water, thousands of fish and dozens of sharks were swimming right over our heads, it was a breathtaking experience.
A moving walkway gently glides visitors through the Lagoon and Shark tunnel, and you have the chance to off along the way to take a picture, which we did – Plenty.
Ripley’s Aquarium contains over 5.7 million litres of water and has over 16,000-marine animals over a span of 12,500-square metres!
Species include jellyfish, sharks, sting and manta rays, turtles, eels, lobsters, many different kinds of fish, and much more!  The aquarium is open 365 days a year, and birthday parties, group rates, and yoga are available

Busy times:

For Adults only, if you are looking to avoid the biggest crowds, I would suggest you try to avoid busy times from 11 am to 3 pm and weekends.

Best Waterparks in Ontario Enjoy Outdoor & Indoor Water Fun with the Family

calypso water park fun

Summers in Ontario are hot and humid and the best way to cool off and have a fantastic time doing it,
is to visit one of your local waterparks. They offer fun for the whole family, including thrilling body or tube slides, wave pools, Toddler splash areas, lazy rivers and more.  Pack your bathing suits, kids and  sunscreen and head to one of these great outdoor and indoor waterparks in Ontario

Outdoor Waterparks

Bingeman’s Big Splash Park, Kitchener Waterloo, open from June to September. Find a wave pool, waterslides, and an indoor entertainment complex.

Canada’s Wonderland, Splash Works Toronto. Exciting fun with numerous slides, large outdoor wave pool, kids pools, and included in your visit, all of Canadas Wonderland “dry” amusements rides, shows and entertainment.

Calypso Park, Ottawa. This is Canada’s biggest theme waterpark and one day is not enough time to pack in all the wet fun there is to be found! “Adrenaline”, “Vertigo” and “Black Hole” are just some of the names that promise non-stop thrills.

Wild Water Works, Hamilton Waterpark. This is a smaller park that still offers great fun for the whole family. Cool off in one of Canada’s largest outdoor wave pools, adrenaline pumping waterslides or float around the Eazy River.

indoor waterparks

Niagara Fallsview Park, Niagara Falls, A visit to this indoor park is the perfect addition to all the excitement Niagara Falls has to offer.

Windsor Adventure Bay, Windsor’s newest attractions, this  Indoor Waterpark features a wave pool, kids play area, a small coaster and slides. Perfect for any weather.

Savings Money on your Waterpark Visit:

Coupons

You can save on your next trip to the waterpark by looking for coupons on their website. Many parks also offer a discount if you purchase tickets in advance Online.
If you live close to a waterpark you may even be able to purchase Family or season tickets, which often cost little more than a single admission and you can use them a whole season.
Also look for coupons on sites like Attractions Ontario.

Bring Your Own Food

Many waterparks are offering Franchise Restaurants like Pizza Pizza, Subway and others. Prices are most often higher than in the regular Restaurants, but are still reasonable.  Check the waterpark Restaurants before you go to find out the Dining options available.

If you want to save money and eat healthier food, bring your own cooler (loaded with ice and picnic items like sandwiches, salads, fruit and veggies.
Many parks allow outside food (check first) and have a picnic area, or picnic tables and you will be able to enjoy at least an inexpensive family lunch.
Drinks are must items to bring from home.
Kids need to stay hydrated on a hot day and bottled water, juice and pop at the Waterpark may be $2- $3 and more a bottle.
For a family 0f 4 or 5 people, bringing your own drinks may save up to $50

Personally I always love going to the beach.
It’s a ten minute car drive from my house and it’s free 😉
Do you have a favourite Waterpark in your area?
Let us know where you love to cool off during hot summer days!
